Sappada Vecchia

Le Cascatelle
They are located along the route of the river Mühlbach near the center of Sappada and the park of the Daini, the path to reach them is short and spectacular, equipped with excellent fixed equipment (bridges, ladders) s'insinua in the shadow of the narrow gorge and then look out , almost by magic, in a bright and wide pool of sparkling and emerald waters.
Ziegelhutte pond
Pond in the vicinity of the center of Sappada, it takes just a few minutes to get there.
And it is therefore an ideal destination for families with children.
The place is very beautiful and frequented.
The pond is full of trout, and managed by the sport fishing association, which with prior permission to do on site allows you to fish by making available the necessary equipment.
Small Museum of the Great War
It is located at the start of the path that goes to the "Cascatelle", in loc. Mühlbach near the center of the village. Here are exhibited items of daily use of soldiers at the front such as combs and shaving racks, water bottles and aluminum racks for rations, snowshoes and crampons, needed to move on the ground covered with snow and ice and different models of camp stoves . Of great interest is the collection of equipment from both armies: helmets, goggles, gas masks and even various weapons such as rifles, grenades, bayonets, trenchers and knuckle-knives. Among the pieces there is also a field surgical set. The objects are accompanied by reproductions of documents from local and private archives (newspaper pages, postcards, etc.) and by photographers and individual soldiers in uniform who exhibit the supplied weapons, but also by trenches or by a group of refugees sappadini, arrived in Tuscany after 1917.
Museum of the Peasant Heritage
The museum is located in the hamlet of Cretta, it was set up in an old wooden house from 1850 with a wooden shingle roof. Wooden walls and little masonry. Stoves without a fireplace. Room for smoking. Stall attached for a cow. Outdoor freefall cabinet. Interesting furnishings well explained by the caretaker, with picturesque anecdotes. It is located in the hamlet of Cretta, east end of the village. The path to get there on foot is almost opposite the Chapel of the Holy Trinity.
Ethnographic Museum
Giuseppe Fontana
The museum is located in Cima Sappada was founded by Maestro Fontana, who collected many artifacts.
The museum is divided into different sections dedicated to the history of Sappada, to daily life, to the carnival, some of the sensations are dedicated to the flowers of montanga, to ancient crafts, to the geology of the place.
